When I photograph a wedding I try to capture both the formal and the candid elements. There's nothing like still photography to preserve the historical record of a momentous event, the big moments -- the bride and groom at the altar, exchanging the vows, the wedding party in formal pose, and so forth. But my speciality is capturing the small moments -- from the bride getting ready, to the radiance of old folks who may not be around in twenty years when the bride and groom review their wedding pictures. I strive to record the beauty and emotion of the event. I always meet with the couple well before the wedding to incorporate their vision into my plan.
